FLYERS, WOLVES WIN ON VOLLEYBALL COURT

Freeman Public took down Oldham-Ramonda/Rutland 3-1 in volleyball action Tuesday night, Oct. 8 while Menno held off Hanson in five sets.

The Flyers won 25-14, 25-14, 22-25, 25-21 behind 13 kills and 15 digs from senior Rijjy Peterson. Oddy Pankratz added eight kills, 18 digs, 10 set assists and four aces while Ava Ammann had 20 set assists and 10 digs. The win moved Freeman to 12-6 while ORR dropped to 5-11.

Menno defeated the Beavers 22-25, 25-18, 25-14, 17-25, 15-10. Jesse Munkvold led the way with 12 kills and 34 digs. Maddy Heckenlaible and Bridget Vaith had eight kills apiece and Kylie Harriman had 19 set assists and 21 digs. Kaylie Schempp contributed 16 digs and Heckenlaible had a good night from the service line with four aces.

The win moves the Wolves to 5-9 while Hanson drops to 4-9.
