ORTMAN NAMED CORNBELT MVP; SIX FROM PRIDE RECOGNIZED
Tyce Ortman has been named the Class 9A/9B MVP of the Cornbelt Conference for his play during the 2020 football season. The announcement came Monday morning, Nov. 16 along with the all-conference selections for the season that wrapped up last week.
Ortman, a senior at Canistota, was also named to the all-conference first team at linebacker, as was Freeman senior Clayton Smith at defensive end and Canistota senior Logan Katzer at tight end.
Canistota/Freeman also saw three second-team selections: Black Anderson, Isiah Roberts and Cole Papendick.
Between the first- and second-teams, Howard and Viborg-Hurley had the most selections at eight each. Viborg-Hurley’s Angel Johnson was named MVP in Class 9AA.
