PHOTO OF THE DAY: THAT SPRING FEELING

Nancy Miller and Audrey Waltner work on a garden plot near the visitor’s center at the Freeman Prairie Arboretum on a sunny, comfortable Monday morning, May 10. The ladies were working to transplant a peony to be included among other perennials and annuals that will also soon be planted. This particular area has been maintained by Miller the past couple of years, with Waltner’s help beginning this spring. Volunteers like Miller and Waltner are largely responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the Prairie Arboretum grounds every year.
