MENNO GIRLS WIN REGION MEET FOR FIRST TIME EVER
For the first time in what is believed to be school history, the Menno High School girls are regional track and field champions — and they did it on their home turf.
Competing at the Region 5B Track Meet at the Jim Woehl Athletic Complex Thursday, May 20, the Wolves edged Centerville by nine points to claim the title. Menno finished with 132 points to the Tornados’ 123, taking advantage of wins by Morgan Edelman in the 800 and the pole vault, Jesse Munkvold in the 100 and 300 hurdles and Raygen Diede in the discus.
On the boys side of things, Freeman Academy/Marion finished second with 104 points behind Viborg-Hurley’s 154. Menno was third with 80.
