This was one of the ways the Menno community paid tribute to the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attack on the United States — and always pays tribute on the somber anniversary. This truck that is part of the Menno Volunteer Fire Department’s fleet was at Ground Zero in New York City and purchased by the department in 2013. Lettering stenciled onto the front of the truck reads that it “serves in memory of the 343 firemen who lost their lives that day.”
