PHOTO OF THE DAY: MOVING DAY
A team of volunteers and staff was busy Thursday morning at Heritage Hall Museum & Archives, moving pianos, organs and other musical instruments from the Fine Arts Gallery into the Kauffman Wing. This is in anticipation of a project that will expand the museum’s front lobby/mercantile area and create a new Faith Traditions Gallery in the space that has been home to the instruments in recent years. The new gallery will use artifacts, documents and narrative to acknowledge the historic church life in the larger Freeman community. The museum will be officially closed for the renovation starting Friday and continuing through Oct. 10. The museum is scheduled to reopon on Monday, Oct. 11 with winter hours – noon to 4 p.m. weekdays and mornings and weekends by appointment.
