PHOTO OF THE DAY: CLOSING IN ON CONSTRUCTION
A “Road closed to thru traffic” sign and excavator near the corner of Railway and Juniper are indicators that it won’t be long until work officially begins on Freeman’s Main Street Project. Construction will start at that intersection (near the AMPI entrance pictured at the top) and work its way to the northeast this week Wednesday, April 27. The road will be closed to traffic starting that day. Main Street itself will close to vehicle traffic from Railway south to Fifth Street starting Monday, May 2. Sidewalks will remain open to pedestrian traffic to allow for access to businesses for the majority of the project. Parking will be available on side streets. Phase 1 of the project (the primary business district and side streets) has a completion date of July 29.
