Friday, April 29 is the final day of the workweek that Main Street’s downtown corridor will be open to vehicle traffic, because on Monday, May 2 the stretch from Fifth Street to Railway will turn into a construction zone. Workers will begin tearing out the roadway next week in preparation for brand-new infrastructure which is scheduled to be in place by the end of July. The project will then move to side streets and the northern portion of the rebuild, from Railway to the North County Road.
