PHOTO OF THE DAY: PAVING THE WAY
Workers from Black-Top Paving, a subcontractor for Reede Construction, were back at it Monday morning pouring concrete sidewalks and installing another layer of pavement on Fourth Street; this is looking west from Main. Paul Korn of Sayre Associates told The Courier Monday that the side streets were expected to be opened up to traffic by Wednesday — less than a week after Main Street reopened to traffic all the way to the North County Road.
“It’s kind of been chaotic toward the end — a mad scramble to get everything done,” Korn said, noting crews have worked hard to complete the project as close to the target date of Nov. 5 as possible. “I know having the streets closed off has been confusing and an inconvenience getting on and off Main Street, but we’re nearing the end.”
