PHOTO OF THE DAY: SNOW MOON
February’s Full Snow Moon, which rose on Sunday (Feb. 5), is the smallest full moon of the year, thanks to the current position of the moon in its orbit. Its distance from Earth makes it a “micromoon,” the opposite of a supermoon. While most observers can’t tell a difference with the unaided eye, this month’s full moon is 14% smaller than a supermoon.
