PHOTO OF THE DAY: FULL HOUSE

This is what The Link connecting Sterling Hall and Pioneer Hall on the campus of Freeman Academy looked like around 4:30 p.m. Saturday, March 25, as the line to get a number for the meal extended from the Pioneer Hall lobby, through The Link and into the Sterling Hall auditorium. The large conglomeration of Schmeckfest guests reflected on the popularity of the festival’s return and was seen elsewhere — be it at Heritage Hall Museum & Archives (where a full slate of programming and demonstrations was held) or this year’s musical production of “State Fair” (which played to sold-out crowds both Friday and Saturday). Now that it’s over, festival organizers will regroup, reassess and develop a path forward for what would be the 63rd Schmeckfest since its founding in 1959.
