FREEMAN/MENNO TO SQUARE OFF IN AMATEUR BASEBALL POSTSEASON
For the second year in a row, Freeman is the No. 3 seed and will face No. 6 Menno in the first round of the District 6 Amateur Baseball Tournament that starts this week in Crofton, Neb. The Blacksox and the Mad Frogs will square off in the second of two games Friday, July 21, with first pitch set for 8 p.m. In the first game that will start at 6 p.m., No. 4 Wynot will face No. 5 Crofton.
The winner of the Freeman/Menno game will face No. 2 Tabor Sunday at 7:30 p.m., while the winner of the Wynton/Crofton contest will play No. 1 Lesterville.
The loser’s bracket will be played out at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Thursday, July 27 with the championship set for Saturday, July 29 at 7 p.m.
Four of the six teams competing in District 6 will advance to the state tournament at Mitchell’s Cadwell Park Aug. 2 to 13.
