FHS HOMECOMING: CELEBRATING WITH ‘APPS’
“Phone Apps” will be the theme of this year’s homecoming parade being planned in conjunction with Freeman High School’s celebration of Flyer Pride next week. The parade will begin from near the Freeman Community Center at 1 p.m. next Friday, Sept. 15 and will make a pass south down Main Street before returning to the parking lot of the Freeman Junior-Senior High School.
That night, Freeman/Marion/Freeman Academy will face Howard on the gridiron in a battle of an established Tigers program and an upstart local cooperative looking to make a name for itself. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
There will be plenty of other festivities to mark the occasion of homecoming next week, formally starting with coronation at the Freeman High School gym Monday night, Sept. 11 at 7 p.m. Candidates for king are Evan Scharberg, Blake Stahl and Shad Tschetter, while those up for queen are Ava Andersen, Kaytlin Pankratz and Riley Knittel.
