PHOTO OF THE DAY: SOUP’S ON!

Jeraine Larsen hands out a bowl of soup at the Freeman Regional Health Services Auxiliary Soup Day — an annual fundraiser that dates back almost all the way to the establishment of the Freeman Community Hospital in 1952. And it was busy, with hungry guests packing the Freeman Senior Citizen Center at the peak hour of 12 to 1 p.m. The menu included a a choice of two kinds of soups, two kinds of sandwiches more than a dozen varieties of pies, and there was also a bake sale. All proceeds will go toward a medication cart for the nursing home and clothing identification tags for the assisted living facility.
