PHOTO OF THE DAY: MEN AT WORK
Michael Freeman may have had a Monday off from his teaching responsibilities at Freeman Public, where he is a PE, social studies and science instructor, but there was work to do outside his Freeman home as he used a shovel and snowplow to clear his sidewalk and driveway following a significant overnight snow. As expected, snow began falling in the early-morning hours of Monday, Jan. 8, and by daylight as much as 8 inches had fallen, prompting schools across the region to cancel classes for the day.
Freeman was one of many who took advantage of a lull in the system later Monday morning to clear snow, and city plows were out before sunup moving snow from emergency routes, but another round of heavy snow is expected this afternoon and into the evening, meaning Tuesday morning will likely be a repeat of Monday.
