PHOTO OF THE DAY: CALM AFTER THE STORM

This photo was taken by Chauni Glanzer outside her home northwest of Freeman shortly after sunup Sunday morning and is used here with permission. The calming image comes after what was a brutal week of weather that saw more than a foot of snow dumped across the area and high winds on Saturday that brought much activity to a standstill. While the winds have subsided and the weather system moved out, it remains brutally cold. The actual air temperature was 15-below zero Sunday morning and high are not expected to reach single digits again until Tuesday.
