MARION ONE-ACT ADVANCES TO STATE FESTIVAL
For the second time in three years, Marion students will compete at the State One-Act Play Festival. Competing at the Region 3B competition in Madison on Tuesday, Jan. 23, Marion and Canistota advanced from the field of seven and earned a spot at the state festival at Brandon Valley Feb. 1-3. This year’s play presented by Marion is “Elephant’s Graveyard” by George Brandt, with the following students receiving outstanding actor awards at Tuesday’s region competition: Isabelle McConniel (Ringmaster), Harley Crooks (Strongman), Emma McConniel (Engineer) Kallie Johnson (Trainer), Karley Luke (Young Townsperson), Domani Butler (Hungry Townsperson), Liz Piehl (Tour Manager) and Morgan Tieszen (Preacher).
Marion one-act is directed by Sarah Schanzenbach and Nicolle Timmerman.
