It was a foggy morning in Pierre Thursday morning as South Dakota newspaper editors and publishers gathered at the state capitol for the annual South Dakota NewsMedia Day. The gathering includes a press conference with Republican and Democratic legislative leadership and a lunch with Senate and House lawmakers in the Capitol rotunda provided by the South Dakota NewsMedia Association. The gathering provides an opportunity for newspaper journalists to visit with legislators about issues pertaining to the newspaper industry, among other pressing issues being discussed in the legislative session.
