One day after temperatures rose to nearly 70 degrees, the cold and wind has returned. Tuesday dawned with cloudy skies and wind chills that made it feel like the depths of January. A wind advisory is in effect for the day and highs won’t get much above freezing on Wednesday before a return to 60 degrees this weekend.
This photo was taken in front of the Freeman Junior-Senior High School, which will be the place to be tonight for the second round of the Region 4B Boys Basketball Tournament. Freeman Public is the No. 2 seed and will face No. 7 Menno at 6 p.m.; that game will be followed by No. 6 Freeman Academy/Marion facing No. 3 Centerville. The winners will play Friday night for a spot in next week’s SoDak 16.
In other Region 4B action, No. 9 Scotland defeated No. 8 Irene-Wakonda 48-47 in Irene Monday night and will face No. 1 Viborg-Hurley tonight. That game will be followed by No. 4 Alcester-Hudson against No. 5 Gayville-Volin.
