PHOTO OF THE DAY: PLAYING HOST
A couple from Livingston, Texas passing through is calling the parking lot at Heritage Hall Museum & Archives home for a short time thanks to the local museum’s participation in the Harvest Hosts program. The guests — the second to use the museum grounds as temporary lodging — arrived Wednesday, toured the museum, spend the night and are visiting the museum again today before leaving this afternoon.
Heritage Hall Museum & Archives has joined the Harvest Hosts network for the summer. The RV camping membership program allows self-contained RVers to register at more than 5,000 unique, small businesses around the country.
“We’re looking forward to being part of this program and welcoming guests to Freeman,” said Marnette D. (Ortman) Hofer, executive director and archivist at HHM&A. “We think the location adjacent to the museum and the arboretum is a perfect fit for those travelers looking for unique experiences.”
