PHOTO OF THE DAY: AROUND THE FIELD

The sun was shining on a gorgeous Sunday morning in Freeman and the scene was set on the grounds of Merchants State Bank Field as the community anticipates another Independence Day celebration. Action gets underway at 12 p.m. with summer recreation and youth VFW baseball games at both the softball and basement fields. The Merchants State Bank-sponsored chislic stand will open then, too, with games continuing all afternoon. The American Legion Post 152 79ers take the field at 4 p.m. and the Freeman Blacksox will host Tabor beginning at 7:30 p.m., with CorTrust Bank sponsoring a fireworks show at dark.
