PHOTO OF THE DAY: HISTORY LESSON
Marnette Hofer and Tim L. Waltner share an illustrated and detailed history of the Anabaptist movement in the context of the larger Christian church during a special Saturday night service at the Salem-Zion Mennonite Church. The program was the start of the 150th anniversary celebration of the Swiss-Volhynian Mennonites and the migration from Europe to Dakota Territory beginning in 1874. The observance continues Sunday morning with a 10 a.m. worship service at Salem-Zion, with tours of historical markers set to begin from the church at 1:30 p.m., and a 7 p.m. “Celebration of Choral Music” in Pioneer Hall.
