Verlyn Jane Fast, 88

Verlyn Jane Fast, born on Oct. 19, 1935, died in Denver, Colo., on Aug. 7, 2024, from complications from a stroke.

Verlyn grew up on the family farm outside of Freeman until the family moved into town when she was 16.  Verlyn attended Freeman Academy and had many fond memories of her friends there and throughout Freeman.

Verlyn will be buried at the Schartner Cemetary, most likely over Thanksgiving weekend. Details to follow.

Verlyn’s only brother, Myron Fast, died a few weeks before she did at age 90.  Verlyn leaves a daughter, Tanya Light, two grandchildren, and many stepchildren and step- grandchildren.
