PHOTO OF THE DAY: A 5-SECOND DUMP
A Freeman area farmer unloads corn into a wagon last week Friday, Oct. 18 — but not just any wagon. This was part of a project of the Freeman FFA designed to raise funds for next week’s trip to the national convention in Indianapolis. Dubbed a “5-Second Dump,” members of the local chapter spent the day out and about in the rural community inviting those harvesting corn to offer a bit toward the cause. Shelly Wanninger, whose daughter, Ellie is part of FFA, headed up the effort and said the group brought five loads to the local elevator which resulted in 877 bushels. And at a price of $3.73, the effort resulted in a gross total of $3,271.21.
Watch for more on this project in this week’s Courier.
