FHS BOYS OUTLAST BRIDGEWATER-EMERY IN OT
Freshman David Walter had 28 points and was 6-for-6 from the free-throw line down to stretch to help seal a 65-62 overtime win over Bridgewater-Emery in Freeman Thursday night, Jan. 9. It was the second tight win for the Flyers in two nights; Freeman also edged Irene-Wakonda 66-63 Tuesday night.
Thursday’s win over the Huskies improved Freeman to 5-2 while Bridgewater-Emery dropped to 4-2.
The Flyers had to battle back to claim the win Thursday night. The Huskies led 32-28 at the half and 41-36 going into the fourth period, but key shots in the final quarter gave Freeman the momentum needed to force overtime and ultimately survive the Huskies, who were led by junior Ben Weber’s 20 points, 18 rebounds and seven assists.

The Freeman girls also beat Bridgewater-Emery Thursday night 56-31 to improve to 6-1. The Huskies dropped to 3-5.
