PHOTO OF THE DAY: SUN(DAY) DOGS

Vibrant sun dogs decorated the eastern sky Sunday morning as the sun rose and rays of light refracted through ice crystals in the atmosphere — a phenomenon caused by cold temperatures. And cold it is. Sunday morning broke with temperatures below zero, and highs on Monday and Tuesday are expected to be below zero, as well.
