PHOTO OF THE DAY: SOUTH MAIN

This undated photo, taken decades ago, shows the south end of Freeman’s Main Street and the Freeman Academy/Freeman Junior College campus sometime after 1965, when Frontier Hall (the college dorm, right) was built. The college closed in 1986 but Frontier Hall remains in use for boarding for out-of-town students as Freeman Academy continues to operate in this, its 121st year. And the campus will once again be home to Schmeckfest when it returns April 4 and 5; watch for more on the festival in the next two issues of The Courier.
