Freeman Police Chief Barron Nankivel shows students equipment that the police department uses to help serve and protect the public outside of the Freeman Junior-Senior High School Wednesday morning, April 23. Nankivel was one of more than 20 signed up to meet with students at the Freeman Community Development Corporation’s day-long Career Here — an event designed to show students in grades 6-12 the vocational opportunities locally.

The vendors ranged in scope, from Valley Electric to Vision Care Associates to Lake Area Tech to Freeman Regional Health Services.

The 2025 Career Here is the first of what is expected to be a regular or semi-regular event in Freeman.
