This is a familiar look for those who grew up — or lived — in the Freeman community from the late 1970s through the early 2010s, when Casey’s General Store stood at the corner of Cherry Street and the jog connecting Sixth and Fifth streets. The convenience store opened in Freeman in 1979 and operated from this location until a new store opened along Highway 81 in 2013.
